Thrust into the modelling spotlight of the ‘90s, working with the likes of Steven Meisel, Peter Lindbergh and Steven Klein, Justin von der Fehr found himself satisfying a lifetime of questions about design and detail from the greats of the moment. As a lifelong artist and maker, it was these visionaries from the art, design, and fashion worlds who encouraged him to strike out on his own within a realm he could experiment freely in. Inspired by the personality and luxury of his grandfather’s accessories, JvdF was launched in 2009 with the concept of deconstructing old-world classics with a playful, urban sensibility. Justin continues to create without convention in his New York City studio, pushing the boundaries of traditional forms with a bold yet whimsical take on modern life and the everyday objects that aid and adorn the Sybarite. JvdF remains true to the modern creative spirit who is set
on making their mark, living large and doing it in style.
